Another great mornings racing down at Central Park Avenue with 14 starters and 10 races completed. Thanks PRO Nick Jerwood and scorers Bev Swanson and Ann Morris for the smooth running of the morning. We took the precaution of not only having “Afleet” set up for the normal scratch racing but also for the Heat Management System if we had 16 or more starters. We had a number of our regulars away and could have quite easily have topped 20+. We will use the HMS for events with 16 or more starters. . Attached is the best video explanation of the system. Competition is definitely getting closer with the vast majority of the fleet there or there about at the finish, with the smallest of errors being quite costly. There were 6 different winners this morning with Janet Jerwood taking out 3 in fine style, Nick Jerwood had 2 wins, Brian Schneider also had 2 wins, Barry Glazier along with V/C Graham O’Hehir and new member Jason Poutsma had one each.
Lewis Arndt with his brand new “Green Machine” had flashes of brilliance leading the pack around the windward marks on at least one occasion. Arnold Martin also had a great 5th place in race 8 well done Arnold.
Pennants courtesy of Guy Skinner were presented by V/C Graham O’Hehir to in 1st place on 15pts Nick Jerwood, closely followed by Janet Jerwood with 17 pts and Brian Schneider with 29pts. Well and congratulations.
As an aside we had some really positive feed back from a lakeside home owner, who took the time to come over at the end of our racing to say that he and his immediate neighbours fully supported our sailing on the lake.
